I was on the hunt for a game that I could easily pick up and put down in between other things. I wasn’t that interested in something with a deep story, but I was in the mood for an FPS that I could play in short bursts and Rage 2 was it. I’d just spent some time with Borderlands 3 but after 20 hours or so it felt like I was losing interest – and something about it triggered my motion sickness after a while. So despite my 1000+ game Steam library, nothing in it really fit the bill and I turned to Epic launcher. Rage 2 was one of the free games back in 2023, so I figured I’d give it a shot.

Rage 2 reminds me of Ubisoft’s Far Cry games in all the right ways. The world is absolutely loaded with points of interest, where you can get totally sucked into a rabbit hole of “oh, while I’m here I’ll just…” and the next thing you know two hours has passed. Normally that type of map gets on my nerves, but since I was only looking for a time killer that type of thing is great.
