From 2006 to 2017 I was the lead singer and songwriter for award-winning UK rock band Albany Down. Check out the history of the band here.
I’ve played music for my whole life, teaching myself keyboard at age 8 and later drums at 12. But it wasn’t until I learned guitar at the age of 16 that performance became my passion and singole-minded ambition. Like most musicians, I started with a high school band and progressed through pub bands before reaching the stage of performing on national and international tours in the mid-2010s.
My studio recording experience began with a small Scottish one-man studio in 2000 and progressed to working with fantastic well-known and respected UK producer Greg Haver at Modern World Studios in 2010, 2012 and 2015. I now have my own small home studio where I’m working on new original songs across multiple genres. It's like a full circle thing!
I wrote my first song exactly a month after teaching myself to play guitar, way back in 1996. Since then I’ve written countless tracks for myself as well as three albums of outstanding rock music with Albany Down between 2007 and 2017. Together we were awarded Songwriter of the Year and Rock Video of the Year for our 3rd album, in 2016.
I am currently writing and recording multiple original tracks as a solo artist with rock, pop and R & B influences. My plan is to release some of these tracks independently and to licence the rest to other artists. I plan on returning to live performance at some point when the right opportunity presents itself.
Until that time, I'll be continuing my work as a freelance character voice actor.
